Double Trouble State Park
At 581 Pinewald-Keswick Road, Double Trouble State Park is Bayville's signature destination. The park protects more than 8,000 acres of Pine Barrens habitat surrounding Cedar Creek and the preserved Double Trouble Village historic district.
Historic Company VillageThe preserved village, sawmill, cranberry sorting and packing house, former bogs and reservoirs tell the story of lumber and cranberry production in the Pine Barrens.
Eight+ Miles of TrailsOfficial blazed trails follow sand roads and woodland paths through pine forest, cedar swamp, former cranberry bogs and historic industrial landscapes.
Cedar CreekThe tea-colored Pine Barrens stream winds through the park and eventually drains toward Barnegat Bay.
Hiking & BikingMost official trails are fairly level. Mountain biking and horseback riding are allowed on existing sand roads, subject to current park rules.

Current Cedar Creek advisory: NJDEP reports continuing winter-storm damage on the Cedar Creek Water Trail, including numerous downed trees and obstructions. Canoeists and kayakers are currently encouraged to consider alternate paddling locations while restoration work is planned.
Cedar Creek & Pine Barrens Paddling
Cedar Creek is one of Bayville's defining natural features. Its dark, tea-colored water comes from tannins in the surrounding cedar and Pine Barrens vegetation.

Visitors staying on the Bayville mainland can reach Island Beach State Park by driving north toward Toms River and Route 37, then south through Seaside Park. The park preserves approximately ten miles of barrier-island habitat between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay.
